Auto Shop Writer 12 ( MLS 12 ) was released in December, and shops are having it installed.  Here are some interesting things you should know if you have not yet had us install this upgrade at your shop.  Remember, for DPP and Rental clients, there is absolutely no charge, and the upgrade is done for you via the internet.

As we do the install, when each workstation is brought up, people go right to work.  THERE IS ZERO LEARNING REQUIRED to run the new version.  Continue in the same way you have in the past, though there are many new features for you.

The installation usually goes pretty quickly.  We expect a server to take about 20 minutes, and and 5-10 minutes for each workstation.

The auto updater now runs as a windows service.  It has been rock solid and has been running fine on all types of computers without every quitting.

The program can run as a 32 bit or 64 bit application ( making it perform faster ).

The email and follow programs have been enhanced for more automated service.

You can now use Twilio for sending text messages – as alerts, followups, and reminders; all which clients are now requesting.

Our integrated Credit Card Processing now takes advantage of the latest technologies.  We now support 1st Mile, Gravity Payments, and 360 Payment Processing.  Need text to pay or mobile payments ?  You can do it.  You can also have the customer sign for a work order on a credit card terminal, and ALL signatures will print on the final copy.

We’ve added a lot of enhancements, refinements, and new reports.  For example, if you use the General Ledger, you can now print a Profit and Loss, or Balance Sheet, from your previously closed years.
