We have received several calls recently from people suddenly expieriencing the printer output with invoices. People note that the printer is only doing one or two lines and then skipping to the next page.
THIS IS NOT AN UPDATE ISSUE. It occurs when someone adds a new printer, or goes into the Invoice Setup and changes the printer. It can be solved very quickly if you do the following:
1). CRITICAL FIRST STEP:. In Windows Make sure the printer you want to use is installed on the local computer. You can send output to any shared printer on the network, but it must be “installed” on the sending computer. This is easy to do in Windows Setup in the Add Printer option. Windows will show you avaialble printers, select the one you want, and let the setup complete.
2). In ASW, go to the main screen, and under Tools -> Setup select Invoices. In the box that asks for the printer, use the drop down arrow to find and select the correct printer. Make sure you find the one you intend to use.
3). On the “lines per page”, make sure you have this set to 59. You may want to use a smaller number if you have issues. ( Some older printers will have font sizing issues ).
4). These values should be stored locally on each computer so be sure to check. Also be sure that the selected printer is correct on that computer. Sometimes when an IT person installs them, they assign differing names at each machine.
This should fully resolve any problems you have.
